In 1921, Edward Moody published an Alton Almanack which included an article by Miss Childs on life in the Alton area during and after WWI. This description makes up the text of the book and there are added notes and pictures of the period. Although the events of the War are noted, there is also a lot of information on what was happening on the home front.
